Pearl Frame are Members of Landmark Industry Guarantee

Pearl Frame is one of the first company’s in Yorkshire to be awarded accreditation by the Double Glazing and Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (DGCOS), which was recently launched with the backing of consumer champion and former BBC Watchdog presenter, Nick Ross, to improve the industry’s much-maligned reputation and help consumers make the right choice of supplier. The scheme comprehensively vets its accredited installers to ensure a proper level of competence and adequate administration procedures. Its extensive safeguards include deposit protection, a ten-year insurance-backed guarantee, a free advice line and free conciliation, mediation, and arbitration to deal with any disputes that may arise between consumers and members.

Pearl Frame director, Julian Payton, says: “It is no secret that the double-glazing and conservatory industry has a poor reputation, and with good reason – adequate regulation has been unavailable until now. Pearl Frame are delighted to have achieved founding member status with DGCOS. It is a scheme that consumers can rely on. There are lots of trade associations in the double- glazing sector, but DGCOS actually has powerful mechanisms in place to ensure consumers get a fair deal.”

“Consumers deserve first-class workmanship and service, value for money and willingness to follow up on promises like guarantees and after-sales care. Pearl Frame strongly believe in those commitments, and they are fundamental to the values of DGCOS.” Continued Julian

DGCOS ambassador Nick Ross says: “Consumer agencies champion Ombudsman schemes because they give customers real protection. Restoring confidence is important for consumers and all good contractors and DGCOS can quickly rebuild trust within the industry and mark out the good guys from the cowboys.”
